Free Demo Download- Lightning Bugs

I wrote Lightning bugs in a traditional country/folk/rock structure. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best way, especially when you want people to listen to the words.  This song is about finding time to pause in everyday life.  Sometimes those moments are not super beautiful to an outsiders eyes, but to your own, they are the things that keep you going day after day. Dancing with lightning bugs, stopping to watch the stars, feeling like children, and filling your glass one more time are all important moments of surrender.  Stop fighting what you want, and be who you be inside this big beautiful world.  I think  Jay-Z said it best….. “you was who you was before you got here.”

Free Demo track of the Week “Grieve”

Grieve is a song about moving forward.  not so much about death, although that is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word grieve.  this song is more about taking stock of where you are in your life, recognising your successes and failures alike, and beginning to look forward again. all the little frustrations in our everyday lives that stack up over the days and months and years have to be purged every now and again.
“now’s the time to kill that part of myself, and let the other half grieve.”
Rob Cheatham

Free Demos- Download- “Summer is Now”

summer is now is about me taking the time one particular summer day and evening to remember the kids i use to see all the time at Nice Jenkins shows, and just around town in general. i sat and wrote the beginning of the song while i ate brunch one Sunday in Belmont, observing them in all their hipster glory.

later that night i went and saw Adam Brock’s band, the invisible hand play. there were all these kids i hadn’t seen for a while who i was just thinking about earlier that day.

i always felt like i wasn’t totally accepted in that world, but that night they all embraced me with smiles and hi fives as if we were dear old friends who had somehow lost one another for a while. it was nice.
